Diferencias entre el present perfect y past simple en inglés

PRESENT PERFECT:

Para que se utiliza:

  • Para expresar una acción que ya ha sucedido en el pasado pero que tiene consecuencias en el presente o sigue pasando.
    • You have already bought a pizza yesterday afternoon.
    • She hasn’t lived in London for the last few years.
    • Have they studied for the last exam?
  • Para referirse a una acción que no es relevante o que no tiene tanta importancia o que no es muy específica.
    • We have already runned to far away from the bear.
    • I haven’t played ruby with my friends. 
    • Has he waited for the train?

Estructuras:

  • AFIRMATIVAS:
    • Sujeto + auxiliar have + verbo past Participle + complemento
  • NEGATIVAS:
    • Sujeto + auxiliar have negativo + verbo past Participle + complemento 
  • INTERROGATIVAS:
    • Auxiliar have + sujeto + verbo past Participle + Complemento + ?

SHE, HE, IT: HAS

THEY, WE, YOU, I: HAVE

  • AFIRMATIVAS:
    • I have already eaten some snacks at class yesterday.
    • I have already played with the ball at the park.

  • NEGATIVAS:

PAST SIMPLE:

Para que se utiliza:

  • Se utiliza para referirse a una acción que pasó en un tiempo específico del pasado.
    • I played the guitar last Monday.
    • He didn’t have a Rabbit.
    • Did they teach a class?
  • Se utiliza para referirse a una acción que acabó en un tiempo específico del pasado.
    • You sang a very famous song.
    • She didn’t run a very good career.
    • Did we understand the explanation? 

Estructuras:

  • AFIRMATIVAS:
    • Sujeto + verbo en pasado + complemento 
  • NEGATIVAS:
    • Sujeto + didn’t + verbo + complemento 
  • INTERROGATIVAS:
    • Did + Sujeto + verbo + complemento
