Tenemos que usar el «will» cuando estamos hablando de predicciones,  hipótesis sobre el futuro o decisiones espontaneas, en cambio, si quieres hablar sobre planes o predicciones basadas en una evidencia tienes que usar el «be going to».

Por ejemplo, si quieres decir que hace calor y quieres abrir la ventana puedes poner: It’s hot, I will open the window.

He will read the newspaper day after tomorrow.

He will do the work of three historical people.

I will be late for dinner tonight.
